To make this lithe and enticing wine, we blended grapes from the renowned Mirabelle Vineyard in the Russian River Valley, with the highly aromatic Sauvignon Musque clone fruit from the equally acclaimed Dutton Jewell Ranch. Fermented in both stainless steel and neutral French oak, these grapes have yielded a Sauvignon Blanc with tantalizing aromas of spicy citrus and tropical fruit. Though rich and flowing on the palate, with layers of Mandarin orange and summer melons, it is also delightfully refreshing, with a palate-cleansing backbone of lime citrus.
Glass House Vineyard, which is named for the striking modern home tucked in the middle of the property, is located on the western edge of Carneros, where it is strongly influenced by volcanic soils and the onshore winds that channel through the Petaluma Gap. From its deep, inky purple color to its gorgeous aromas of black cherry, sweet tobacco leaf, plum and baking spices, this is a lush and velvety expression of Carneros Pinot Noir.
Made using grapes from a who’s who of the Russian River Valley’s finest vineyards, including Kent Ritchie Vineyard, Martinelli Vineyard, Mirabelle Vineyard and Charles Heintz Vineyard this is a gorgeous Chardonnay with a lovely floral nose of fragrant jasmine, lime citrus, green apple and lychee. On the palate, it is refreshing and complex, with a crisp mouthfeel reminiscent of cool green melon, and a soft lingering finish with just a hint of oak spice.
