Tasting Notes

A beautifully elegant and dry Rosé, with inviting aromas of strawberry and white peach, this wine is refreshingly smooth. Underscored by flavors of red berry, stone fruit, and ripe cantaloupe, our Rosé is ideal for al fresco gatherings.

Winemaking

Rosé is a fun, yet challenging, wine to make. Color is the first lure of this wine, and it is crucial to have it just right. 52% of the fruit went directly to press, which produces a light and delicate pink color, while bringing more structure and mouthfeel to the wine. The other 48% was produced using the saignée method, which produces an aromatic, fruit-forward wine. The wine also benefitted from fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks for five months, which maximized the vintage’s lovely fruit aromas.

Vintage

2024 was a dream of a harvest. It started off cool with delayed to normal bud break. Just when we were thinking it might be another cool vintage like 2023, the summer heat arrived to push the vines to ripen and mature the fruit. With steady temperatures throughout August and September, we were able to harvest exactly when we wished, with high quality and low disease pressure.

Vineyard

Our Pinot Noir Rosé was predominantly made from a select block of our acclaimed Thale’s Estate Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. This block provides a fruit profile that is ideal for Rosé, with high acid and bright, red-berry aromas and flavors. In order to create a complex and familiar Rosé profile, the remaining fruit came from select Sonoma Coast vineyards, including our own Nightwing Estate and Wildcat Mountain.
