“I love the culture of Sonoma County, the community, and having conversations about wine in a place where some of the finest wines in the world are made.”
Alex Beyer
Senior Guest Service Associate

If you are a MacRostie club member or customer, you might not recognize our senior guest services associate Alex Beyer, but you’ve likely spoken with him by phone or exchanged emails. Alex’s role at MacRostie is to ensure that our customers continue to receive exceptional service beyond our winery and tasting room. Warm, friendly, and passionate about wine, Alex assists our customers by phone, email, text, and even chat with a wide range of services, including reservations, wine orders, and wine club support. He also helps to create our wine club materials and assists in planning and executing our great club events.

Alex grew up outside of Denver, Colorado, where he earned a BA in English from Colorado State University. During university, Alex fell in love with craft beer, which acted as a bridge to wine. “Denver was a hub for craft beer. I really began to understand the craftsmanship involved and how complex the results can be. When I discovered wine, I realized how similar they are.” Alex began his career in library sciences before joining the Colorado Department of Health’s Office of Health Equity. “I enjoyed public service, but after two years of the pandemic I was burnt out and wanted to find more joy in my work.” In early 2022, Alex and his wife sold their home and moved to Sonoma County, which they had fallen under the spell of during a trip to wine country. “I love the culture of Sonoma County, the community, and having conversations about wine in a place where some of the finest wines in the world are made.”

Today, as our senior guest services associate, Alex gets to talk about wine a lot. “My goal is always to make the experiences of our customers smooth, fun, and memorable. I love wine and so do our guests, so it’s a shared experience.” Recently, Alex’s wife Jackie was offered a great job in Arizona and the two have relocated along with their dog and cat to Tucson where Alex works remotely. While it’s not wine country, Alex loves hiking in the high desert and is testing his green thumb with a cactus collection. Happily, Alex regularly travels back to Sonoma County for our MacRostie club events. “My business trips involve helping to host unforgettable wine club events. How fun is that?”
