S’ra (coincidentally, pronounced like Syrah the grape) Albion Black was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, where she worked in sales, management, education, and hospitality. She fell in love and moved to California in 2017, and in the years since, she’s fallen under the spell of wine country, working first for Vintage Wine Estates, before joining our team in early 2020.

Known for her slightly wicked sense of humor, S’ra likes to bring the joy and fun to wine tasting. “I love people—the ones I work with, and the friends I make while working. In fact, because I work at MacRostie I have friends all over the country now—we like to share glasses of MacRostie wine over the computer.” Whatever she’s doing, S’ra likes to contribute. “Whether I’m feeding my friends a home-cooked dinner, or volunteering at a food bank, I am passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives.” When asked about her current favorite MacRostie wine, S’ra is quick to respond. “I love every wine Heidi makes, but my current favorite is the 2020 Nightwing Vineyard Chardonnay. It’s sexy! It’s my date night wine!”
