From the verdant vine rows of the legendary Russian River Valley to the windswept edges of the majestic Sonoma Coast, spring has arrived in California wine country—and with it, we greet the arrival of Rosé season! At MacRostie, we have been delighted to be a part of the renaissance of great California Rosé over the past decade as palates have moved away from sweet wines to dry and dynamic rosés that capture the terroir-inspired charm of the places where they were grown.

We love Rosé! Like springtime in a glass, it’s festive, fun, and the perfect go-to wine for gatherings with family and friends, which is why we are delighted to be releasing our 2022 MacRostie Rose of Pinot Noir in mid-April. To craft a beautifully elegant and refreshing rosé with alluring layers of wild strawberry, ripe peach, and apricot, Winemaker Heidi Bridenhagen combined direct-press fruit picked at lower sugar levels with wine made using the saignée method. The result is a dazzling wine that combines delicious fruit with a lush and layered mouthfeel and structure.

To celebrate the unveiling of this eagerly anticipated wine, we will be hosting our annual PINK Party at our MacRostie Winery Estate House on Sunday, April 23 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Always one of our most popular events, our PINK Party will feature plenty of our sun-kissed 2022 Rosé of Pinot Noir, a selection of current release Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, some rare wines from our library, gourmet grilled cheese bites & tomato soup (a perfect pairing for our Rosé), live music, and a PINK chocolate fondue fountain! For a fully immersive experience, we invite guests to dress in PINK and white as we celebrate Rosé Season.

Because we can never get enough Rosé, we will also be participating in Pink Sonoma Saturday atop the Summit of Viansa’s stunning Sonoma Winery on Saturday, May 13 from noon to 3 PM. Featuring sweeping vineyard views and rosés from more than two dozen acclaimed wineries, this unforgettable afternoon of wine, food, and music promises to be nirvana for Rosé lovers! It is also an event for a worthy cause, with a portion of all ticket sales benefitting our LGBTQ+ youth in Sonoma County.
