“Sonoma County 2020 Report”
“The kaleidoscope that is the vast Sonoma Valley is an incredible region to kick off my first report working full-time for JebDunnuck.com. The region offers a wide spectrum of styles, from the ripe and fruity to the taut and acid-driven, across its Bordeaux, Rhône, and Burgundian varietals. With 19 delimited regions currently within the county, there is a tremendous scope to cover, and it can certainly be confusing at times to pin down and define each appellation in terms of stylistic profiles. I do believe, however, that the growing attention from consumers and the dedication of the region’s growers to defining their wines’ styles does raise the bar and draw attention to the county as a whole, regardless of whether consumers are fluent in what each area has to offer.”
2020 MacRostie Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay
91 Points
“The 2020 Chardonnay Sangiacomo Vineyard is elegant, with a subtle sweet perfume of honeysuckle, brioche, and pear. It offers a bit more concentration and balance through the mid-palate, with ripe green apple and lime. It was aged in French oak, 62% new. Drink 2022-2027.”
2019 MacRostie Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir
91 Points
“From the Petaluma Gap, the 2019 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown Vineyard has pretty aromatics of dried roses and raspberry. On the palate, it has energetic lift, with orange peel and cranberry, that leads to a modest, clean finish. Drink over the next 5-6 years.”

2019 The Loch Pinot Noir
90 Points
“The 2019 Pinot Noir The Loch is more reserved, with candied cherry and cedar spice. The palate is spicy with forest floor, cinnamon, and dried raspberry, and while it does display a bit of astringency on the end, it may just need some time to unwind. Drink 2023-2027.”
