About this Wine

In 2020, we were able to achieve ideal ripeness at Day Ranch, and this wine was made as a selection of our favorite block and barrel. Crafted exclusively from Dijon 667 Clone Pinot Noir, it displays beautifully concentrated aromas of red plum, strawberry, cherry, cassis, blueberry and forest floor.

Tasting Notes

On the palate, firm, supple tannins and lovely acid-driven energy frame the lush red and blue fruit flavors impeccably. The tight grain, medium-plus toasted barrel accentuates the luxurious mid-palate fruit, while also imparting a subtle toastiness, along with hints of coconut and sweet baking spice that add nuance and complexity to the long, voluptuous finish.

Winemaking

Crafted exclusively from Dijon 667 Clone Pinot Noir, the wine was aged for 10 months in a Damy-Allier tight grain, medium-plus toasted barrel.

Vineyard

Located just 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, in the cool “Deep End” of the Anderson Valley, Day Ranch is planted on an alluvial terrace that abuts a mountainside. It is a wild, rustic site that consistently yields a complex, distinctive and terroir-driven expression of Pinot Noir.
